International Film Festival

I received this email today and though this would be something we could definitely attend. We can discuss dates and times at the meeting on Thursday.

We'll be meeting at Perk's (corner of Union and Court) at 8:00PM this Thursday, April 12.

Hope to see you all there!

As students promoting the Athens International Film Festival, we felt your
organization would be interested in "The Lives of Others", which recently
won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film. The film takes place in East
Berlin in 1984 and deals with the invasive tactics of the German Democratic
Republic. In the film, the GDR spies on citizens which are viewed as
"rebels of the state", thus invading their basic human rights. The
protagonist in the film is a famous playwright whose every move is
monitored by a government official secretly living in his attic.
This film will give students an interesting look into the historical lives
of Germans and also provide an outlet for hearing German, as the film is
subtitled. For more information on this riveting film, please visit
www.thelivesofothers.com

This is a great opportunity for an organizational activity, as well as a
cheap/fun way to support the Athens International Film Festival!

Show times are as follows:
April 27, 7:00 pm, Athena Cinema
April 28, 2:15 pm, 7:00 pm, Athena Cinema
April 29, 2:15 pm, 9:15 pm, Athena Grand
April 30, 4:00 pm, 7:00 pm, 9:45 pm, Athena Grand
May 2, 4:00 pm, 7:00 pm, 9:45 pm, Athena Grand
May 3, 9:30 pm, Athena Grand

Hope to see you there!
